At the Pool is the professional home for the generation that builds, creates, and moves culture.
LinkedIn was built for a world where your job title defined you. Indeed was built to fill roles, not build relationships. Both assume that professional opportunity flows from a resume — a document that AI can now generate in seconds.
At the same time, an entire generation is building careers that don't fit neatly into a job title. Founders, creators, musicians, designers, athletes, builders — people whose professional identity is defined by what they make and what they care about, not where they've worked.
The resume is dead. The cold application is dying. What replaces them is identity, reputation, and authentic connection.
At the Pool isn't a job board with a better UI. It's a fundamentally different idea about how professional opportunity should work. You build an identity around who you are and what you care about. You connect with people who share your interests and your ambitions. And opportunity surfaces naturally — through relationships, reputation, and community — the way it always has for the people who seem to know everyone.
We are building the professional platform for the generation that creates, builds, and moves culture. The generation that defines itself by interests, experiences, and communities — not job titles and bullet points. The generation that knows the most valuable professional asset isn't a resume. It's who you know, what you've built, and who you are.
At the Pool was founded by Mike Gourzis — a solo founder, technologist, and builder who has spent decades watching professional networking fail the people it was supposed to serve. After building multiple AI-powered platforms and spending years studying where identity, community, and opportunity intersect for the next generation, Mike became convinced that the world had finally caught up to a better idea. At the Pool is that idea.
